Abstract: The main objective of the project is to conduct research and development that will result in the introduction of ready-to-commercialization new product in the form of a prototype of an innovative aerial medium voltage sealed-housing vacuum switch dissconector for smart medium voltage networks. The target group of the project results will be the Distribution System Operators that conducts repair and modernization works in the field of medium voltage distribution network infrastructure, aiming to improve the quality of provided services by enhancing the operational parameters of medium voltage network. As a result, the new, innovative, ready to commercialize product, characterized by higher reliability compared to the currently available devices, with better electrical performance and durability of mechanical switching, even under extreme weather conditions, will be created. The applied solutions will eliminate the need of regular inspections and maintenance of the main contacts of the switch, as well as the necessity of using harmful SF6-Gas, ensuring long-term maintenance-free operation of the device, which will greatly reduce the operating cost of the network infrastructure. Research is conducted in the discipline of automation, electronics and electrical engineering.
