Abstract: The project concerns research and development cooperation in the area of generation and application of non-thermal plasma for energy, electrical and ecological engineering. Three partners are representatives of Japanese universities: Kumamoto (KU), Sojo (SU) and Ryukyus, and the Laboratory of Environnment and Energy (EEla) representing, as the contractor and project coordinator from the Lublin University of Technology, the scientific discipline of automation, electrical engineering and electrical engineering.The research cooperation of the project partners from the universities KU, SU and EEla has over 15 years of history and has resulted in numerous joint scientific publications, bilateral study visits with lectures and research. Scientific cooperation with the aforementioned research and development centers in Japan is very important for Poland due to the fact that it conducts research on similar topics in the area of generation and biomedical and agricultural applications of non-thermal plasma. The goals of the project are: 1) organization of study visits and exchange of experts in the field of electrical engineering and ecology in partner universities, laboratories and local enterprises in the above-mentioned industries;
2) promoting best practices and innovative solutions in the field of non-thermal plasma generation using Gliding Arc (GA) and barrier dielectric (DBD) discharges for applications in electrical and ecological engineering; 3) Strengthening cooperation with Kumamoto University, Sojo University and Kumamoto Electricity Laboratory and establishing a new one with Ryukyus University in Okinawa to intensify and develop innovative solutions in the field of R&D and internationalization of education. The objectives of the project will be achieved through, inter alia, preparation of a joint scientific monograph Modern electrotechnologies for ecological applications, joint publications in indexed journals with high impact factor, organization of 2 international conferences in Poland and Japan, and study and expert visits of academic staff, second and third degree students and representatives of local industry.The target groups are students of partner universities, academic staff, local and international participants of conferences in Lublin and Kumamoto, as well as representatives of local enterprises in Japan and Poland. Planned activities: 1) study visits of students and their guardians; 2) expert visits in the areas of electrical and environmental engineering; in the field of fundraising for international research and educational projects; 3) organization of a scientific conference in Lublin and a conference summarizing the results of the project in Kumamoto. Benefits of the project implementation: 1) increasing the mobility of the academic community of partner universities; 2) defining new and strengthening the existing research disciplines in the field of R&D and in cooperation with the needs of local enterprises; 3) increasing the competitiveness of university graduates participating in the project on local and international labor markets; 4) promotion of the field of electrical engineering among candidates for studies. Benefits will be achieved through intensive study and expert visit programs as well as conferences. Participation in the exchange will be promoted through the preparation of exchange reports and meetings with interested representatives of the academic community. New lines of research will be outlined during expert working group meetings and presented at the Kumamoto conference. The key areas of cooperation are: electrical and ecological engineering in the field of R&D and student education, preparation and management of international projects in various programs (Japanese, Polish, EU), dissemination of the results of scientific and research cooperation.
