Abstract: The project is closely related to the civil engineering, geodesy and transport research areas. The aim of the project is to obtain anti-corrosion sealing coatings modified with biodegradable methyl esters and stearic acid, higher fatty acids of plant and animal origin, intended for reinforced concrete cooling towers.
Specific objectives:
- development of recipes and production of new anti-corrosion coatings by combining selected resins with two types of higher fatty acids (methyl esters and stearic acid) using ultrasound;
- experimental tests of new resins and concrete covered with newly created coatings, including physical and mechanical tests, as well as durability of resins and concrete on a laboratory scale;
- in situ examination of coatings impact on the cooling tower condition at PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. - Elektrociepłownia Branch in Lublin and on this basis the selection of the most effective coating;
- implementation of the most effective solution in the cooling tower to protect the reinforced concrete cooling tower against corrosion.
