Abstract: The main objective of the project carried out in the discipline of mechanical engineering is to develop a new generation of aircraft that combines the features of both autogyros and multirotors. The classic autogyro propulsion will be assisted by additional electric motors with adjustable thrust vector rotors. This propulsion will be used mainly for flight safety and proper management of the power needed for the flight. Multi-rotor aircrafts, which are increasingly available, have a relatively high in-flight energy consumption during hover. The results of the measurements carried out by the applicants indicate several-fold higher energy demand during forward flight. SafeGyro's multi-rotor propulsion system allows for vertical take-off. After reaching the required forward speed, under the influence of the flowing air, the autorotative rotor starts to produce a lifting force. The intensively increasing lift force of the main rotor allows to reduce the power of the side rotors of the multi-drive propellers until they are switched off completely. A double drive system producing a lifting force leads to the increased landing safety. SafeGyro enables several landing techniques. The solution proposed on the project will allow to land like a typical classic gyroplane. This means that it is not necessary to use additional rotors. In order to achieve greater precision during landing, only a multi-rotors drive can be used. Due to the possible different landing techniques and two independent propulsion systems that produce the carrier force, SafeGyro is safer. The cruise flight depends mainly on the autorotation due to lower energy consumption.
