Abstract: Professor Wataru Uemura's visit is closely related to digital transformation and the development of industry 4.0 and 5.0 in Lublin. One of the goals of the Lublin 2030 Strategy is to create innovative and sustainable economic ecosystems that aim to stimulate the economic development of Lublin. However, an equally important goal is to build the ability to implement innovative solutions and promote the use of modern technologies to increase the competitiveness of enterprises. Among these technologies, we pay special attention for automation, robotization and digitization of production, service and organizational processes.
The next step towards implementing digital transformation in Lublin will be the creation of the Eastern Robotics Center at the Lublin University of Technology. Certainly, a visit by Professor Uemura as a specialist in robotics and consultations with him by employees of the Department of Technical Informatics would provide valuable advice on the organization of the laboratory and the planned purchase of research and teaching equipment. Professor Uemura's visit to Lublin is planned for June 2024, which coincides with the organization of the annual conference Innovations in Practice and the related exhibition of inventions organized by the Center for Scientific and Educational Innovation. Then, during the conference, a plenary lecture will be delivered related to the RoboCup student competition, one of the main judges of which is Professor Uemura. The Innovations in Practice conference is also a good place to conduct consultations with representatives of the Lublin City Hall and representatives of other universities in Lublin. Recognizing the need for local industry consultation, workshops will be held outside the conference with Professor Uemura as part of the Enterprise Europe Network project, which aims to connect business with the academic community. In addition, during the visit, Professor Uemura's study visits to local companies related to robotics and automation are planned.
