Health Insurance

Students are obliged to have health insurance for the duration of their studies, which entitles them to benefit from medical care in Poland.

Students who are citizens of a Member State of the European Union and EFTA Member States (Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) are entitled to benefits in kind under the rules applicable to a Polish insured person. To obtain a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you have to contact the health insurance institution where you are insured and which is therefore responsible for assuming your healthcare costs. The above-mentioned students receive free health services in primary health care institutions that have concluded a contract with the National Health Fund for a given calendar year, in the event of a sudden deterioration of their health. This does not include preventive healthcare or treatment of chronic diseases. Foreign students may also conclude health insurance contracts with any insurance company that offers such insurance and pay the premiums on their own.

Architectural Accessibility

  1. Buildings belonging to Lublin University of Technology (18 in number, including four student dormitories) are wheelchair accessible. The area around the buildings is adapted to the movement of disabled people (without differences in height and all kinds of terrain obstacles).
  2. All buildings and rooms (except technical rooms) can be entered with an assistance/guide dog.
  3. There are toilets adapted to the needs of wheelchair users on each floor of the buildings.
  4. In the modern building of the Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies, which also houses the Main Library, three-colored stripes have been introduced on the floors of the corridors to show directions to the most important rooms.
