Abstract: The mission of the Polish Metrological Union (PMU) is networking and positioning activities in Polish metrology, setting directions for research and development, promoting innovation and supporting staff development, organising forums, conferences and congresses.

The PMU was established to integrate, initiate and implement joint activities in metrology and measurement techniques by Polish research centres and institutions. The PMU collaborates closely with the Central Office of Measures to support research and development works.

The PMU’s key objectives include:

integrating metrological communities to develop interinstitutional cooperation networks;
acquiring national and international research grants;
promoting state-of-art solutions and innovations in the field of metrology;
organising seminars, symposiums, conferences and congresses;
setting new directions in metrology development;
enlisting cooperation with industry in the field of metrology;
supporting and promoting implementation doctorates;
stimulating metrology staff development.
