Abstract: Main aim of the task is to develop a theoretical model for conducting scientific research using modern technology, to develop a tool and artificial intelligence (AI) in allowances for additional ophthalmology with the help of the potential of 3 universities from Lublin ( Lublin University of Technology, Medical University of Lublin, University of Life Sciences in Lublin) operating as part of the Lublin Digital Union, along with its testing and implementation.

The task consists of the following four actions:
1) Creation of a system for monitoring the progression of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) depending on the disease –causing mutation using neural networks (both retinal structure and visual function) in 200 patients with different types of RP inheritance in the Polish population.
2) Conducting ophthalmological screening tests among 5000 school children in grades 1-8 from the Lubelskie Voivodeship by implementing solution developed during the pilot project (screening tests and educational activities)
3) Development of a universal telemedicine system and digital tools for screening among 500 students done on the example of the student population of Lublin University of Technology.
4) Screening of 1000 people in a group of high school students and young adults for corneal diseases.

The project responds to the need of developing and implementing innovative digital and telemedicine solutions and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical sciences and is a comprehensive solution for examining various groups of patients.
