Abstract: The aim of the project is to develop the broadly understood communication skills in English of the members of the Science Club of Information and Multimedia Technologies TeamWEB, which are necessary for the effective development of a system for monitoring the growing conditions of potted plants along with a web application to manage it and to promote the results of work on the international arena.

Project activities include:

1. Participation in workshops developing the ability to write scientific articles in English.
2. Participation in workshops developing public speaking skills in English.
3. Participation in workshops developing the skills of conducting promotional activities on the Internet in English, with particular emphasis on social media.
4. Development of a system monitoring the growing conditions of potted plants and a web application to manage it.
5. Preparation of a scientific article on the development work carried out by members of the science club.
6. Publication of an article in a journal or a chapter in a monograph presenting the results of development work.
7. Preparation of a speech and participation in an international conference.
8. Preparation and publication of materials promoting the created application on the Internet.

The development works concern the system monitoring the growing conditions of potted plants, which includes:

1. electronic system equipped with a microcontroller (Arduino), sensors (e.g. soil moisture, temperature) and an LCD screen, diodes, etc. used to inform the user about the current growing conditions,
2. program for the microcontroller and
3. a web application necessary to manage the created system in a convenient way for the end user.

The use of a system for monitoring the cultivation of pot plants is to help create the most favorable conditions for the cultivation of pot plants by inexperienced users.
