We will optimize the life cycle of modern vehicles

29.09.2023

We are starting the implementation of the project entitled "Research platform for optimization methods of the life cycle of modern vehicles". Lublin University of Technology received financial support in the amount of PLN 1,998,700.00 from the Ministry of Education and Science.

The project involves the development of a real platform for testing optimization methods of modern vehicles construction using computer simulation techniques.

- The idea is to bring the best possible effect with the least expenditure. Optimization based on computer simulation will significantly accelerate design work and, importantly, reduce costs compared to creating a model of real vehicles and conducting tests - says Prof. Jacek Czarnigowski, project manager.

- The research platform will be an experimental racing vehicle created in parallel with the development of its "digital twin", which will enable diagnostics of the machine's condition, predicting its variability over time or optimizing its operation - describes Prof. Czarnigowski.

The project is aimed primarily at scientists and engineers in the field of construction and operation of vehicles, mechatronics, computer-aided design systems and transport.

The project will be implemented until June 30, 2025, and will include four stages:

  1. Development of the structure of a research platform;
  2. Construction of the research platform;
  3. Development of a digital research platform;
  4. Development of a structure optimization methodology.
