28.09.2022

On September 15, 2022, during the XXXIX General Assembly of the Academy of Engineering in Poland, two new members of the Academy were presented with membership cards. Prof. Józef Kuczmaszewski and Prof. Jerzy Józwik, employees of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lublin University of Technology, joined the noble group of Polish engineers. Bearing in mind the motto of the Academy "... being a member of the Academy of Engineering is the highest honor for a Polish engineer ...", honoring Prof. Józef Kuczmaszewski and Prof. Jerzy Józwik is also an honor for our University.

The Academy of Engineering in Poland follows the traditions of the pre-war Academy of Technical Sciences established in 1920 on the initiative of professors of Lviv University of Technology and Warsaw University of Technology. The first president of the Academy of Technical Sciences was Prof. Gabriel Narutowicz.

On the same day, Prof. Tadeusz Kaczorek, a real member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Honoris Causa of many universities, including Lublin University of Technology (2004), who celebrates his 90th anniversary this year, was awarded with the honorary medal of Prof. Gabriel Narutowicz.
