During a press briefing that took place on November 29, 2023, representatives of the University Clinical Hospital No. 1 and Lublin University of Technology announced the third joint competition for the color arrangement of hospital interiors. This time the cooperation will concern the historic building of the Ophthalmology Clinic in Lublin.

The first European Center for Innovative Therapies of Macular Diseases will be established in the facility. The new infrastructure within which the Center will be built, will enable medical procedures related to the treatment of macular diseases to be performed in modern and appropriately adapted conditions.

The aim of the cooperation is not only to aesthetically change the interiors, but above all to create patient-friendly spaces and improve their well-being during their stay in the hospital.

The participation of Lublin University of Technology students in such projects gives them the opportunity to gain practical experience, which is crucial for their professional development. They have the opportunity to design spaces that respond to specific needs - they fulfill utility functions, but also play an important role in the recovery process of patients.

The effects of the previous editions of the competitions, which took place in 2017 and 2021, are already visible in two other locations of the University Clinical Hospital No. 1. The students' works were consulted with various specialists, including psychologists and onco-psychologists, who emphasized the importance of colors and their impact on human well-being.
