For the second time, our students of architecture took part in the international DIGIWEEK workshops organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia in Italy. The initiative aimed to promote issues in the field of digital architecture complemented by an extensive program of lectures, seminars, meetings and events addressed to the academic community.

Students of Lublin University of Technology, together with students from Germany, Finland, Romania and Italy, took part in the project entitled "ONEIRIC Mapping” (ON-site Evaluation, Inspection and Readability Itinerary for Cognitive Mapping), the main goal of which was to create a digital replication project of a selected space of the historic city.

As a result of the workshops, the student teams, under the supervision of the instructors, prepared a digital image of selected parts of the city of Pavia, along with interactive cognitive maps.

The BIP training classes in Italy were conducted in a mixed formula. The first part consisted of opening lectures and online trainings, and the second one consisted of practical laboratory classes. During the classes, the students and their supervisors from the Department of Monument Conservation of Lublin University of Technology had the opportunity to exchange experiences and implement digital research and data management protocols to create interactive maps of the city's historical spaces. The primary goal of the training was a critical analysis and valorization of space, as well as identification of necessary modernizations and adaptations to contemporary needs.
