Regional Center for Digital Medicine

The Medical University of Lublin, the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 4, Lublin University of Technology, together with the Biobank of the Clinical Research Support Center of the Medical University, will create the Regional Center for Digital Medicine. The project cost is PLN 28 million. The funds will come from the Medical Research Agency.

The center will be equipped with infrastructure supporting the development of digitalization of clinical trials and enabling maximum use of health data of patients and people who would like to join a broad program for the development of digital medicine.

It will be one of the eighteen centers in Poland associated in the Network of Digital Medicine Centers with the primary role of the Medical Research Agency.

Lublin University of Technology is responsible for tasks related to anonymization and transfer of data, development of standards for sharing and analyzing secondary data, as well as creating algorithms and tools for analyzing integrated data and software for securing and sharing data.

On behalf of LUT, the project is coordinated by Prof. Dariusz Czerwiński, Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Development, and Prof. Kamil Jonak from the Department of Technical Informatics.

By digitizing patient data, data sets can be created and used repeatedly for decades in scientific research and clinical trials.

The services of the Regional Center for Digital Medicine and the Biobank will be used by, among others, clinical hospitals, scientists and universities.
