Prof. Dariusz Mazurkiewicz in the Metrology Council

Prof. Dariusz Mazurkiewicz from the Department of Fundamentals of Production Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Lublin University of Technology, was appointed to the Metrology Council, which has just started its second term. During the first meeting of the Council (20/09/2022), a new chairman - Prof. Adam Woźniak from Warsaw University of Technology - was also elected.

Prof. Jacek Semaniak, the President of Central Office of Measures (COM), handed over to the members of the Council the appointments signed by the Minister of Development and Technology, Mr. Waldemar Buda.

The Metrology Council is an entity supporting the development of metrology in Poland. It functions on the basis of the provisions of the Act on Measures. It is an opinion-making and advisory body of the President of Central Office of Measures. It gives opinions on: the state and directions of the development of national metrology, the substantive activity of the administration of measures, the four-year strategic plan of COM, as well as annual plans and reports. At the request of the President of COM or the minister responsible for economy, it prepares expert opinions regarding the indicated areas. The Council is composed of representatives of state structures, industry and science.
