Twenty-five outstanding students of Lublin University of Technology were honored with the Santander Universidades Awards for exceptional scientific achievements and entrepreneurial approach to education. It is not only a distinction, but also financial support in the form of PLN 2,000, which will be allocated, among others, for the development of their scientific research.
– Our students have demonstrated not only excellent academic results, but also involvement in scientific clubs and participation in international projects. We are glad that each department of our university has its representative among the winners. This is proof that they are successful in all fields of science - says Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Paweł Droździel.
First-year students who began their academic adventure with excellent recruitment results were also awarded.
Secretary of the Santander Award committee, Magdalena Paśnikowska-Łukaszuk, MSc., from Lublin University of Technology, reminds that the call for applications lasted from May to the second half of October this year.
– We received several hundred applications. This shows how many of our students boast high academic results, but also develop their skills in additional activities. We did not expect such great interest, which only proves that such programs should be continued – emphasizes Magdalena Paśnikowska-Łukaszuk.
Why? Because they are an important tool supporting the development of students and investments in courses, scientific equipment and other types of training, thanks to which they can further develop, says Prof. Paweł Droździel.
Wojciech Leśniewski, director of Santander Universidades, emphasizes that for 11 years their activities have been focused on preparing students for the challenges that await them in the future. As employers, they realize that the needs of the labor market will be related not only to dynamic digital transformation, but also to a sustainable economy. This will require completely new qualifications. And in this respect, the Santander Universidades Foundation is determined to support universities and students, placing emphasis on the development of skills that will be crucial in the future.
