The most modern ALMA library system with the PRIMO search engine has been implemented in the Library of Lublin University of Technology. As a result, our readers received quick access to information about the library's collection.

– The PRIMO online catalog allows you to quickly and easily search for collections available in our library. Convenient filters make it possible to narrow down the search results, thanks to which you can quickly find the issue you are interested in and limit it to e.g. publications released just in current year. Facilitating access to information while ensuring its highest quality, are the features of the ALMA system and the PRIMO search engine - says Dr. Katarzyna Weinper, director of the Centre of Scientific and Technical Information of Lublin University of Technology.

The system works in the cloud, enabling the management of traditional and electronic resources. For the library, this means no need to install the system locally and maintain server facilities. The system is operated via a web browser, and the library gains access to constant software updates.

– We hope that the new Alma system will also enable the creation of special, profiled collections for faculties or fields of study. We are also thinking about using other tools cooperating with the library system to create a repository, manage lists of textbooks or materials necessary in the course of studies - informs Dr. Weinper.

The ALMA system and the PRIMO search engine are used by the best libraries in the world, such as Harvard and Oxford Universities. In Poland, these tools are already successfully used by: the National Library, the Jagiellonian University, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the Catholic University of Lublin and the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
