Lublin University of Technology has gained another cooperation partner.

The university concluded an agreement with “Pszczółka” Candy Factory, under which both parties agreed to engage in research and education.

The contract was signed on March 12, 2024 by the rector of LUT, Prof. Zbigniew Pater, and the company’s board member, Justyna Budzyńska.

– Lublin University of Technology is very closely connected with industry. Such cooperation always offers new opportunities for universities. This is an example of building synergy between the scientific community and the economic sector. Thanks to this, we combine knowledge with practical experience and supply the market with solutions based on the results of research work conducted at the university - emphasizes Prof. Zbigniew Pater.

Justyna Budzyńska, member of the management board of “Pszczółka”, also sees the benefits of the signed contract:

– Cooperation will allow us to exchange knowledge and resources, influence the development of innovation, and on the other hand, prepare students for the reality of the job market in the FMCG industry. We count on technology transfer, using the potential of scientists and students in production as well as research and development processes, and promoting the Polish food industry - says Justyna Budzyńska.

According to the signed agreement, Lublin University of Technology and “Pszczółka” are to design and develop projects regarding new technologies, as well as share the experiences, knowledge and skills of experts.

– We will provide substantive support in the automation and robotization of the production, portioning and packaging processes of products manufactured in the company. In addition, we will support "Pszczółka" in optimizing production processes aimed at increasing the efficiency of the processes and their positive impact on the natural environment. It's about the so-called sustainable production – explains Prof. Arkadiusz Gola from the Department of Information Technology and Robotics in Production.

Students will also benefit from the agreement. They will gain, among others, the opportunity to complete practical placements and internships. They will also have the opportunity to start a professional career in the company.

As the rector emphasizes, the university's goal is to build a comprehensive model of cooperation in the field of teaching.

– A very important element that influences the quality of education of future engineering staff is students' direct contact with real industrial conditions. Through practical placements and internships, and later engineering projects and diploma theses, our students will be prepared for professional life - notes the rector.

Justyna Budzyńska confirms that students of Lublin University of Technology will have the opportunity to write industry-specific diploma theses that respond to the company's needs - most often it is about solving a specific technological problem.
