In the latest ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), Lublin University of Technology achieved success in the field of mechanical engineering, confirming its high position in the international arena.

This prestigious ranking compares universities in 55 areas of science. In the field of mechanical engineering, Lublin University of Technology was ranked among the 301-400 best universities in the world. In Poland, Lublin University of Technology took 3rd place, ex aequo with Gdansk University of Technology and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.

– Being selected for this ranking is a high distinction, considering that this year's ranking included over 1,900 universities from 104 countries around the world – says the rector of Lublin University of Technology, Prof. Zbigniew Pater.

The ranking is known for using objective academic metrics and third-party data. The key evaluation criteria are: the number of scientific publications and their citations in a given field, the share of foreign authors in publications, the number of articles published in the most important scientific journals and the number of employees who have received significant awards in a given field.

Professor Zbigniew Pater is proud of the university's results: – This ranking confirms our high position among the most prestigious international universities. It also proves the high reputation of our scientists, as well as their involvement in global research in the field of mechanical engineering - emphasizes the rector. He adds: - This success opens up new opportunities for us, especially when it comes to building international research teams. I am convinced that our position on the world scientific stage will allow us to be even more recognized.

As the rector points out, not only the ShanghaiRanking appreciated our achievements in mechanical engineering: – In the latest Research.com ranking, Lublin University of Technology took second place in Poland in the field of mechanical and aerospace engineering, ahead of Opole, Bialystok and Gdansk Universities of Technology and the AGH University of Krakow. Globally, we are in 250th position.

International rankings are a key tool that supports the development of higher education and science around the world, while helping universities build their international reputation and influence.

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is published annually by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, an organization focused on higher education. The organization is not legally subordinated to any universities or government agencies, which gives it credibility and objectivity.
