During this year's celebrations of the National Independence Day on November 11, 2022, a solemn appeal was held at Litewski Square in Lublin. The academic community associated in the Union of Lublin Universities was represented by: Prof. Wojciech Załuska, rector of the Medical University of Lublin, Prof. Dariusz Czerwiński, vice-rector of Lublin University of Technology, Prof. Arkadiusz Bereza, vice-rector of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and Prof. Andrzej Marczuk, vice-rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin.
The rectors laid flowers at the monuments to the Unknown Soldier and Marshal Józef Piłsudski.
