International cooperation for electromobility

19.09.2023

More than thirty scientists from Greece, Austria, Hungary and the Western Balkan countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro, met at Lublin University of Technology to exchange experiences and promote activities related to electromobility.

As noted by the head of the Department of Sustainable Transport and Energy Sources, Prof. Paweł Droździel, thanks to international cooperation there is an opportunity to create innovative solutions that will contribute to the transformation of transport into a more ecological and environmentally friendly one.

During their stay at Lublin University of Technology, the guests visited, among others: laboratories located in the Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies, where they participated in demonstration sessions.

– We presented Hydros, a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle built by our students. We also showed an innovative electric vehicle charging system integrated with the street lighting infrastructure, as well as advanced electric vehicle drive systems – says Dr. Eng. Michał Gęca from the Department of Sustainable Transport and Energy Sources.

The meeting was organized as part of an international educational project to promote and disseminate electric mobility through the transformation and modernization of study programs.

– Our task is to support universities from the Balkan countries in improving students' skills through the modernization and development of first- and second-cycle study programs. We will also work on increasing the level of expert and linguistic competences of their teaching staff. We also want to increase awareness and understanding of the issue of electromobility among the inhabitants of the Balkans - emphasizes Prof. Paweł Droździel.

All the universities participating in the project will introduce new classes in the field of electromobility in disciplines such as environmental sciences, sustainable transport and electrical engineering. In addition, specialized laboratories will be created where students will have practical classes on electromobility.
