Four rectors honored with prestigious medals

Four of our scientists were honored with the "Sapientia et Veritas Medal of Merit for Polish Science". The awards were presented by the Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, on November 24, 2023, during the ceremony at the Ministry's headquarters.

The "Sapientia et Veritas" medals, whose name in Latin means “wisdom and truth”, are awarded for outstanding contributions to higher education and science. The distinction covers achievements in the field of scientific, teaching or organizational activity. The medals have three grades: gold, silver and bronze.

The highest distinction, the "Sapientia et Veritas" Gold Medal was awarded to the Rector of Lublin University of Technology, Prof. Zbigniew Pater.

The "Sapientia et Veritas" Silver Medals were awarded to three vice-rectors: Prof. Wojciech Franus, Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Paweł Droździel, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Prof. Dariusz Czerwiński, Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Development.

This year's list of winners includes 70 outstanding personalities of Polish science, representing various disciplines. Among them were also scientists from Lublin University of Technology, which proves the high level of achievements of LUT in the field of science and education.
