Volunteers, social workers and scientists. Eleven exceptional women were honored with the title of "Commendable Woman" in the plebiscite of the Lublin "Gazeta Wyborcza". On March 7, 2023, in the building of the Crown Tribunal in Lublin, the winners received commemorative diplomas.

– Our action shows the profiles of women who boldly and effectively change reality. In short, it's about women who fix the world - said Paweł Krysiak, editor-in-chief of the Lublin "Wyborcza", during the grand celebration.

One of the winners is Dr. Eng. Aneta Tor-Świątek. She works as an assistant professor at the Department of Polymer Processing, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lublin University of Technology.

In her scientific work, she deals with the modification of polymeric materials, the study of the properties and structure of polymer composites, porous plastics and biopolymers, and the processing of polymeric materials, mainly by extrusion and injection methods.

She is also very active in popularizing science. She is the author and co-author of 74 scientific publications and 35 invention projects, including 20 patents, 10 patent applications and 2 industrial designs. Her solutions have been awarded many times, not only at national but also international exhibitions of inventions. In total, she has received 12 medals and awards. From the last two trips to Asia, she brought back one gold and two bronze medals.

She successfully completed a prestigious internship program in the area of Science Management and Commercialization at Stanford University in California as part of the Top 500 Innovators program. She has gained and improved her professional experience at national and international scientific conferences, e.g. in Japan, Estonia, Sweden and France. In addition, she has taught many times as part of the Erasmus program in many European countries, such as: Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal and Italy.

She is a member of the Commission for the Development and Promotion of the Achievements of Young Scientists of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Branch in Lublin, and the Society of Polymer Plastics Processors.

For her scientific and inventive activity, she was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission, the honorary badge “For Merits for Inventiveness” and the Bronze Long Service Medal. In addition, she received the Bene Meritus Terrae Lublinensi 2014 award in the science category, and many times, the award of the Rector of Lublin University of Technology.

She is passionate and a certified moderator of Design Thinking, i.e. a method of creating products and services focused on the needs of the end user, which was created at Stanford University. She created the Design Thinking Zone, currently operating at the CINE Foundation in Lublin.

In her free time, she takes care of her garden and apiary.
